Ullrich, Basso (Ivan? Really?), Sevilla join Hamilton and almost every Spanish rider in suspension from their Tour de France teams, just before the start. Even Vinokourov is suspect-by-association.
Sure narrows the field for Hincapie this year. Here’s hoping that the team supports him like they did Lance (that means you, Popovych).

Zabriskie abandons
Dave Zabriskie abandoned the Tour de France today after suffering since the TTT crash on Tuesday, where he lost the yellow jersey. If he can mature to the mental focus (which Lance is known for but Weener and Rasmussen have been exemplifying this year) I expect we’ll see Zabriskie in yellow again. As […]
2005 season is here
Rode the Riverfront Trail with Ryan? and Scott, 30 mile round trip from home to Chain of Rocks. I am so terribly, terribly out of shape. Ryan isn’t. Scott is riding a tank, so there’s no telling with him.
Kurt’s new wheels
Kurt surprised everyone by grabbing a racing bike at the Bike Swap Meet. It’s a 2001 Fuji Newest in suitably obnoxious yellow and blue. (I scored a Bell Ghisallo helmet.)
No more excuses now when he can’t keep up.
Fourth Century
I’ve finished my third century this month, and fourth for 2004. Unlike last year?, the weather was awesome. The wind didn’t pick up until after lunch, and only became a strong headwind for the last long leg. Thankfully, the “Psycling Psychos” in their patriotic garb let me join their paceline, so the […]
MS 150 2004
Heather, Ryan, Dwayne, Kurt and I rode the MS 150 as team Velocity.
Despite what is being called the most challenging route in the ride’s history and obnoxious winds, I pulled two century patches again this year. I’m told the first day was only 94 miles, but the second was 106. The final hill […]
Lone rider
Last night, watching the end of Stage 17, I thought: Would someone get Basso some teammates? I mean, really, he’s always alone out there.
Then, this morning, I read this:
Apparently, yesterday’s abandon by Michele Bartoli of CSC was a little more colorful than reported. Bartoli, who will ride for Italy in the Olympics, got in […]
