Well, election week was fun as expected. It boggles my mind how everyone seemed surprised when all the predictions came true.

We had friends over for dinner on Friday. All within the rules and they are super-cautious, as we are. Still, it felt like cheating and that feeling brings a sad nostalgia for pre-Covid times.

Four years ago I wryly noted that the reported odds of Clinton winning were similar to surviving Russian roulette. Favorable, but not so much that I was comfortable with the gun held to our head.

Today the reported odds for Biden winning are better. I’m still not comfortable.

That Tom Cotton and Marjorie Taylor Greene can be elected to national leadership unopposed highlights how badly we need proper multiparty democracy in the US.
