We stayed at the Krasnapolsky for a night because otherwise we’d be 3 mornings without a shower while tiles set. And this weekend were able to get a shower curtain to use the whole, gloriously-large space. But I also noticed that they’ve failed to follow the plans for the ceiling, so recessed lighting isn’t possible. Our contractor, his lead carpenter, and our architect all failed to do their job on this one. No one denies the mistake, and no one seems more than slightly apologetic.

It shouldn’t be a big deal, it’s just a nicety. But it’s the type of nicety that’s only possible when building from scratch like this, and I was really looking forward to this nice touch as a way to make it seem worth all the hassle. This happening on top of all the delays has left me as angry as my project fatigue permits.
