Week 0x22

Started a little macOS app that’s really just a manager for the installed armature (ACP adapter).

But there is a major disruption: the Letta team has abandoned their open source agents server, in favor of focusing on Letta Code, their agent harness. This completely negates my reasons for being a part of the Letta ecosystem. It’s not entirely surprising but the suddenness is a shock.1

I could try to find an alternative, but after implementing the ACP adapter and memory-managing sidecar, Den has grown to be so much more than a Letta operations manager. So we might as well “fill in” the hole left by Letta and live without it, right? How hard could it be to replicate years of work by an expert team?

It’s been a planning-heavy week, turning that idea into a concrete set of milestones. Some code changes to begin ringfencing Letta-specific areas and make naming more generic. And we’ve taken the first big step of managing conversation history within Den.

The nature of this project as a “real vibe-coding” endeavor is most uncomfortable for me, here. I’m trying not to pay too much attention to the data model. 🙈
