Week 2638
This week marked the close of our semiannual 360 feedback process at work, which means I’ve spent a lot of time synthesizing and talking about performance assessments. It has been calm with very few hiccups and a lot of thoughtful, consistent comments shared among peers. I think we have some work to do towards a more rigorous performance assessment, but this is a great foundation.

Unfortunately, it seems that today’s big LLMs are more like physicists than philosophers. Rather than more knowledge improving their awareness of their own ignorance, it only makes them more cocksure about knowing everything.
