Week 2739
The storm has come. On Wednesday, we finally announced a major restructing at work, which will involve essentially dismanteling my team. And I’ll have to find work. There is time to transition, and no need for anyone to panic; the company is doing right by people.
Still, it’s emotional and stressful. I have been almost looking forward to getting past this moment when it becomes known, yet cannot feel relief.

Maybe I’m in a honeymoon phase with my chosen country, but 14 years in I still enjoy how positive international social media is about the Netherlands and Dutch culture. YouTube is awash with jealous videos and this Instagram poking fun of Dutch tourists was met with a litany of “they are my favorite visitors” comments.
