Week 2729

The heat has been brutal. We’re better off than many European cities, but Friday still hit 38°. Shannon and I spent a good portion of that day in our bedroom with a tiny, loud (and inefficient) portable AC which was able to keep that room below 30°.

We’re still able to get outside for the morning constitutional. It’s all a very small discomfort compared to what most of humanity experiences (and even compared to my own history) but is certainly contributing to my higher-than normal levels of fatigue and anxiety.

Saturday was Dîner en Blanc. It was not as hot but the indoor location was too still and the heat definitely subdued the party. Still, a good time, I enjoyed introducing Ryan & Kelly to it, and I adore the friends who organize it.

After a really dramatic thunderstorm, we seem to be past the worst of the heat. But I’ve finally gotten some certainty on work issues and the result eigenstate is not one I wanted.
